Unabridged Student Comments:
“Great teaching style!
Easy to read & understand.”
“Very energetic and helpful teaching environment. Willing to help in and out of class. Very difficult course however.”
“This is the first time that I haven’t failed Calc II (if the final goes well). You got my vote for best teacher!”
“Lori did an amazing job teaching us such a difficult subject.”
“GREAT TEACHER! Always made my day a little better.”
“Best math teacher I’ve had here. Good to see a grad student treating teaching as an ends in itself, not as a means. Only suggestion—perhaps consider not writing to the bottom of the chalk board as it can be quite difficult to see.”
“Lori was an overall good teacher. Her effort put into this class was very appreciated & greatly noticeable. She was available as much as possible although my schedule didn’t always allow me to get to office hours. Her style of teaching was so much better than my previous professor for M160. I would have liked to see her slow down a little to explain a little further. Thanks for a great semester Lori!”
“Boards were never clean enough to read what was on it. Usually gave up trying to make it out. Webworks have too short of a availbility. (I have other classes. There are times 2 day is too short!) I wish the class was more involved ie more write it out. Aside from that it was good. Labs useless for my major.”
“Lori was a great teacher. I withdrew from this course once before because my teacher was aweful. Lori explained things well, showed all her work (helps me the best), and was well organized.”
“Slow down. Less examples. More concepts.”
“Seems like you went about and beyond to help us pass this course. Thanks.”
“She is never boring. She is also very personable. The thing I liked most was her encouragement.”
“I actually had a good time learning this subject. Thanks for helping me learn the subject. Thanks for the support, and the laughs.”
“Lori! Thank you so much for all your help, your willingness to help me outside of class/office hours definitely exceeded what you had to do and I really appreciate it! Your aid was invaluable to me on many occasions. My only suggestion from my feelings/many others that I heard is please don’t rush to cover material! I completely understand your needing to cover stuff but sometimes that made us just get lost semipermanently.”
“Lori, you are such an awesome TA! Thanks for a great semester. As far as the course goes…I think it is really hard having such a huge chunk of new material on the final. It would even be better if the two exams were more spread out. Thanks again for everything!”
“Would be nicer to have a whiteboard to work on instead of chalk board. Great teacher very enthusiastic and she gets to know her students, so the learning environment is comfortable.”
“Thank you for such a wonderful semester!”
