Math 130, Math in the Social Sciences, Fall 2009
Math in the Social Sciences is a non-algebra, non-calculus based course designed for Liberal Arts majors in which mathematical
topics are introduced to students whose interests traditionally do not lie in mathematics. Students are introduced to topics such as voting theory, apportionment, scheduling, Euler and Hamilton paths relating to the traveling salesman problem, basic statistics, etc. The goal of this course is to develop an appreciation of mathematics by introducing topics relevant to students' lives.

Class was very confusing & didn’t learn how to do problems until I got to class & the TA taught us. Teacher told wrong information & it was very frusturating. Sometimes when asked for her help she wouldn’t give an answer but tell us to figure it ourselves. Was very ditzy & didn’t seem knowledable on what she was talking about. I was overall unhappy with this class.”
